First Husband,  Douglas Renault Trevor

Douglas Renault Trevor was the  son of John Holman Trevor and Mary Georgianna Crompton. John Holman Trevor was born May 13, 1848 in Topsham, Devon, England to Edwin Trevor and Joan Martyn Holman. He was married to Mary Georgianna Crompton who was born September 15, 1854 in Roscow, on the island of Dominica, British West Indies. Mary died October 11, 1923 in Little River, Dade County, Florida at the home of Douglas’ brother, Stuart Crompton Trevor and is buried at Woodlawn Park Cemetery, South, in Miami, Dade County, Florida. She had moved to Florida from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to be with her son about 1920 after the death of her husband on December 20, 1919 where he was in the mercantile business. John was buried at the Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Philadelphia. She was the daughter of John Crompton who was born in Manchester, England in 1880. John and Mary were living in Valparaiso, rich County, Indiana where he was a dry goods merchant. It was in Valparaiso the James Renault Trevor was born in 1881. In 1900 the Trevor family was living in Saratoga Springs New York.

John Holman Trevor’s brother was Benjamin Douglas Trevor who was born April 1, 1867 in England. By 1900, Benjamin or Benny as he was known, was in Key West where he would be elected as mayor in 1905 Benny was present of the Columbia steam laundry company, secretary and treasurer of the William Curry’s sons company, and secretary and general manager of consumers ice and cold storage Company. It was at the steam laundry that Douglas Renault Trevor, Benny’s nephew, worked as a marker. Douglas would later become a foreman of the plant.

Sometime prior to 1909 James married Mabel Brady. James and Mabel had two sons, James Douglas Trevor born 1909 and Reginald Cortney Trevor born in 1910. They were divorced prior to 1920. James married a second time to Minnie Louise Blackmore. Douglas and Minnie were married in 1934 in Monroe County Florida.  According to 1940 census Douglas and Minnie shared their home with Carlysle Trevor aged 19, who was born about 1921.
